Hello
I'm Alex Aluko

I'm a digital design student seeking to learn the true meaning of design.  I'm passionate about creating and learning especially when for artistic purpose. I enjoy creating unique and fresh designs of graphic and 3d nature and hope to further innovate the creative space with my works in the future.

King’s Treasury

A collection of weapons like never seen before, befitting of a king. Weapons appear in many forms as if from across time and space, shame likely none of them will see any use.

This is a collection of previously unused assets I made some time ago. I decided to remedy a habit of mine I used to have of not finishing projects, I searched through my saved files on blender and collected all the unfinished ones. Then I took some time and refined each assets, in many cases adding textures.

This was a good experience as it taught me the benefits of recycling old designs allowing me to create better scenes without requiring a very large amount of time.

Many techniques were used in the creation of these assets. Some include curve deform, arrays, retopology and material nodes.

Archway Island

Out in the middle of an endless ocean a lone crab bathes in the sun welcoming you to his splendid island.

This design was a change of pace for me as it was in a low poly style. Its not often that I use this sort of style so it was a good chance to broaden my vision.

I think its important to not constrain yourself to one single thing for too long, hence the departure from my regular higher poly style. I came to this conclusion as by developing new skills I also was able to see things from a new point of view previously unknown to myself, without this I would just conform to a regular routine and miss out on further improvement through new experience.

Metal Companion

What’s more trustworthy than man’s best friend, only man’s best, man-made, friend ‘Metal’. The new state of the art robot dog capable of speaking over 150 languages! Only requires charging once a week (Charging cable sold separately).

As this is a character, it was important that the story correlated with the characters design to make sense. This in turn compels me to improve my story writing skills as it would also improve the quality of characters I create.

An important part of this process was preparation. Only through proper planning was I able to bring all the separate aspects of this character together, and through further iterating was I able to improve on previously made mistakes.
