Reflection

Through this team project I have gathered experience on working as a team in the design field. I learnt the processes of production as a team such as research, planning and development, and how they differ from individual work. I realised the importance of time as when working in a team you need to pay closer attention to time as each person has different schedules as well as way of working therefore you need to slot things together almost like a puzzle in order for the work to get done. Set backs can also be more challenging as it can affect several areas of a project and development rather than just your individual part.

I think I improved working as a team as I was able to discuss with team members about the work rather than trying to solve problems in my head. This has in turn improved my confidence. I did struggle in areas but that mainly came down to the software I was using (Adobe XD is very limited) and time, but I do admit that more communication on my part would have been useful as if no one is communicating someone needs to start first, at times. I understand that other members of my team may have had personal problems leading to setbacks or other reasons and I think as a member of a team I should be helping lightning the load.

As the UI designer for the group I am glad I was able to provide UI designs for the final product and was able to produce prototypes to display the progress of the work. If I was to have done it again I would have liked to improve on some designs as although I believe my designs fit the purpose I still believe it was in my power to have made them a bit more interesting. I also would have liked to improve on the delivery of the final product, knowing the limitations of Adobe XD better I would have likely changed software or even project to something that would work better.
