Organisational Skills, Schedules & Planning

As the team leader, Jasmine mapped out most of the scheduling and planning however us other team members were still a part of the process helping come up with the ideas and designs.

Our main source of communication was on Discord. We set up a channel at the start of production in order to come up with ideas for the project. Over the course of the production we regularly communicated to discuss all manner of things such as ideas problems posting files etc. this kept discussions organised and meant every member was caught in the loop. As we progressed we also used Trello.

Trello helped us sync up files and documents putting them all in one place. With a central directory each of us team members could use each others files and documents to create their own. Trello also helped get an overview of the quantity of work present and help members sync up designs and details so different pieces of work are not completely different from others, style wise.

As for the central idea for the project, we planned to create a visual novel from early on in the production process. This idea came about as each of us team members would be able to have a clear role in the creation. Jasmine would work on the story and dialog, Jacob would work on the character designs and illustrations and I would work on the UI design and composition. We planned to each create assets in our desired software and I would collect everything together and assemble the project in adobe XD. The software chosen was software we were familiar with and therefore shouldn’t struggle with. With each role clearly defined we could then start creating the assets for the project.
